Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs (Book 1 of the Jane Jameson Series) by Molly Harper

This was a genuine thrill ride from start to finish. I laughed a lot while reading this book, and it was very worth the read. I can't wait to read more in this series!

Jane Jameson, librarian, gets fired and instead of severance pay she gets a $25 gift certificate to Shenanigans the nearby grill/bar. While she's there wallowing in the reality that is unemployment she meets Gabriel, Mr. Tall Dark and Hansome. On her way home from Shenanigans Jane's car breaks down and she decides to walk the rest of the way home. The local drunk-hunting-enthusiast drives by, mistaking Jane for a deer and shoots her. Just before she dies, Gabriel comes to her aid and offers her the choice of living or dying. She chooses life. Three days later she wakes up and finds out her world really did change, but she didn't realize that she made the decision.

Soon, just as things start to heat up between Jane and Gabriel, someone is murdering other vampires and harassing Jane. But the vampires in the council believe Jane is the culprit of the murders. Jane needs to find this person before she gets killed by the council's justice or by the murderer. She doesn't know which one would be worse.

I had such a great time reading this book. You'll love Nice girl don't date dead men, it's hilarious.
When i first read NGDHF i had read a few reviews and i secretely believed i wouldn't find it as funny as it was said to be. I'm so glad i was wrong, it's a treat.

and Dick Cheney....seriously a vampire named Dick Cheney how's that for irony lol

Dick is a truly funny guy. I liked the back and forth they had going on. It seems that even though Dick was almost as old as Gabriel, he surely developed much more of a sense of humor than Gabriel had. Throughout the course of the book Gabriel caught on and even made a few jokes of his own. It was hilarious!

Oh yes i know Gabriel got the hang of it, but it's still not natural for him. Jane is the one always joking.
I think from the first pages i knew i would love this book. What a ridiculous way to die for Jane lol
Do they have Book 2 at the library? i want to know what you think of it! i'm still giggling at some jokes

i see you're reading Night Life....haven't read it so i'll wait for your review =)

I loved her jokes. Her humor reminds me of Harry Dresden's humor ;)

I'm pretty sure they do have it. I'm going to reserve it :)

I'm liking it so far. It isn't nearly as dark as Street Magic was, which wasn't a concern per se but it wasn't really a laugh-your-way-through thing either. I think Night Life so far is a happy medium.
